Truffle Mushroom Burger/Photo by Mark Avila |
Ace Burger started out as a food truck roaming the streets of Saskatoon in 2014. Since settling in their new home on Broadway Ave and 9th St., they have established themselves as a go to spot for delicious burgers.
I opted for the Truffle Mushroom Burger - a chuck patty with Swiss cheese, truffle mayo, roasted mushroom, and topped with crispy and caramelized onions.
First impressions… cheese galore! The burger was smothered in cheese. I just hoped it looked as good as it looked. Taking the first bite, I must say, the bun was soft like a pillow. It was flavourful and buttery. Next were the savoury mushrooms and cheddar cheese, followed by the sweet caramelized onions. The truffle mayo ran down the sides, which was creamy and added a fine touch to the overall taste.
Overall, it was a decent burger. I see why this place is a place is staple in the Saskatoon burger scene. It’s fun, creative, and of course, delicious! A must try if you ever find yourself in these parts of Canada.
